After working on a Valentine Handprint craft with my older boys I had to decide what to do with baby brother. I had a few craft ideas in mind, but was not set on anything. Then inspiration hit when I saw Mama Papa Bubba post on Paper Strip Handprint Art {& Keepsake}. You must head over to check out her handprint art post and look around her site. You wont be sorry. There is tons of fun ideas for you and the kids. Now I knew I would make striped handprint heart art with baby brother for our Valentines Day craft this year.
I went to the craft closet before starting on our hanprint art. I could not wait to make a handprint heart with his little hands.
What I used:
cardstock
washi tape
scissors
sharpies
What I did:
I added strips of washi tape to cardstock on both ends of the paper. I covered an area large enough on both sides to fit baby brothers hand in. Once I had the tape on the paper I took his hand and placed it on the opposite side of the paper from the tape and traced it. Once I did this for both handprints I needed, I cut out the traced handprints. Now I had two very cute striped washi tape handprints.
I took those 2 handprints and slid them together making a heart. Once I had the heart handprints ready, I taped them onto a piece of cardstock. Last, I took out the sharpies to add some extra fun to the picture.
Now baby brother's Valentines Day keepsake art was complete. I can't wait to look back next year to see how much he has grown. I hope that you and your kids can enjoy this too.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
