This is one of my favorite Sibling Play posts I have written. I am updating it to bring it to you today. This post was written when I only had 2 boys. I now have 3. The kids are now 5yr, 3yr, and 1yr. Now all 3 of them play in the pillows together. Enjoying the time they have together as they jump, roll, build, etc. Finding fun ways for all 3 of my kids to play together and bond is important to me. This is just one easy way multi-aged kids can play together.
My son has been playing with the bed pillows for years. He is 3.5 yr now and probably started at 1.5 yr taking all the bed pillows and playing with them. It started out more just making a mess of them and has turned into him using his imagination to create ships, planes, space crafts, trucks.... out of the bed, floor, and his pillows. He stacks them, he piles them, and he will line them up in a circle or square around himself. He just takes the pillows and makes his own fun! I think this kind of imagination play is great for him. He gets to explore with his mind and learn how to create his own fun. He loves for me or dad to join in and play. Little brother is getting a little bigger now and plays with him. We go on his adventures with him. We love simple fun over here and it is always great when it encourages imaginative play and incorporates gross motor skills.

Here are pictures of him playing 2 different days.
All you need are lots of pillow to have fun!
Jumping and laughing.
Building a road.
Second day I took pictures of them playing.
What will his imagination create today.
"Children need the freedom and time to play.
Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity."
by Kay Renfield Jamison
They are playing dinosaurs.
Playing with pillows has become one of their favorite activities.
To only be 3yr and 1yr my boys fight a lot already! They are just everyday siblings. So when they have fun together playing for more than 5 seconds it makes my heart smile. Playing with pillows is great for gross motor skills, imagination play, and best of all sibling bonding.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
