Sensory Bottles- fine motor skills
We love making and then playing with sensory bottles.  These are bottles with fun items inside for the kids to look at.  If they turn them upside down they get to watch as the items move in the water.  The picture above shows you what we used for the sensory bottles.  I like to get my supplies ready for crafts and activities when I can for the boys before I get them to help or play.  That is what I did this day.  Once I had all we needed I let them add the items to the bottles themselves.

My toddler loved stuffing the pom poms in and dumping them out.  Pom poms are what he got to add to his bottle.  He did get one heart jewel but I had to watch him with this.

I didn't set out with the intention of having them work on motor skills but that is just what they did.

My oldest got buttons for his bottle.  He had fun too added his sensory item to his bottle.  Once they had the items in the bottles I had my oldest help me add glitter to them.  After that I added warm water to the bottles and a little clear glue( this aids in the glitter moving better in the bottles).  I always take my hot glue gun and glue the caps on the bottles when we make these.  I let them dry before the boys can have them to look at.  I just loved that they both got to make their own bottle.  This was a first for my youngest.  I love how they came out and both the boys enjoy playing with them.

We hope you and your kids can have some fun making these too.

Please do come and visit us again. We would love to have you back.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
