Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tail (FSPDT): Halloween Sensory Play For Baby

Halloween Sensory Play For Baby

October is fast approaching and I am in full Halloween mode over here.  This year is baby brothers first Halloween.  So it is an extra special time for him.  Yes, I know.  He won't remember a thing, but we can still have fun in the now!  I had my husband get my fall/Halloween stuff out of the attic this week and I couldn't wait to get started on some fun Halloween themed baby play for baby brother.

Babies learn best through their senses.  Giving them a sensory bowl to explore is just learning fun for them.  They touch, look, taste, and listen to it all.

 What I used:

Cheerios (we had chocolate ones on hand)

Halloween toys

Halloween bowl

What I did:

I placed cereal inside the Frankenstein bowl, plastic pumpkin, and plastic ghost.  I put them in the large bowl and set it out for baby brother to explore and discover through play.

I think he was just thrilled to be given his own sensory bin, if you will.  He sees big brothers playing often while he has something else to occupy him.  So now, I can only imagine he thought he was just like the big kids!

I just love that sweet face and I think you can see that this Halloween Sensory Play was approved by baby.

As a mommy of 3 I have learned that "simple isn't boring".  Simple invitations to play can be the best ones.  I often find that the little things are the ones my kids love the most.  This is just one of those set ups for playtime that was a big hit.

Hope that maybe you and your baby can enjoy this too.

Please do come and visit us again. We would love to have you back.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
