This Ritz Cracker Spread Recipe was such a hit that people have been asking for the recipe all day. So what better way to share it with them, than to blog about it. I love quick and easy party recipes. I also love finding things we have on hand and working from that. Since we had a giant box of Ritz crackers I knew I would use those but needed a spread to go with it. I searched a few recipes and didn't see any I liked. I decided to just start adding things to a bowl with my fingers crossed. Luckily it all worked out great. Now I have a go to party spread.
What I used:
(1) 2.5 oz pk bacon bits
2 cream cheese bars
8 oz sour cream
8 oz cheese
Little garlic and onion powder to taste
What I did:
I added the 2 bars of cream cheese to a bowl. Since I was in a hurry I microwaved it for 25 seconds and stirred and then again for 20 seconds and stirred. You could leave them out at room temp to soften ahead of time if you wish. Now it was soft enough to mix in the sour cream. I added a dash of garlic and onion powder. After mixing these ingredients together I added the cheese and bacon bits. Now I placed it in a plastic container with a lid and refrigerated the spread overnight.
The next day I spooned it into a serving bowl and set out the Ritz crackers to go with it.
I am so excited that the dip was a hit today. I have been cooking for years and sometimes things end up in the trash. So glad this was not one of them. This recipe is easy enough to have the kids help make it. I did it on my own while they were sleeping but next time we whip a batch of this up I will have to get them to help. I love getting my kids in the kitchen with me.
I hope that you and your families and friends can enjoy this easy dip recipe too. Maybe you can include it at your next party or holiday gathering.
