I love cheap, easy, and fun. This bath activity is just that. I love finding ways to add a little extra fun to bath time over here at my house. Since baby brother joined the family, bath time has been a bit crazy over here. Bathing 3 kids under 5 yr by yourself can be a challenge. Now that the kids are another year older our bath routine is becoming a bit easier. Due to the fact that bath time is more enjoyable I have started setting them up simple, yet fun, bath activities again. This sponge bath was perfect. It doesn't require a lot of effort on my part and it's a lot of fun for the kids all at different ages 1 yr, 2 yr and 5 yr.
sponges from dollar store, color tabs for the bath, and scented bubble bath
What I did:
I filled the tub with water and added blue color fizzing tablets (found at walmart or online). I added a little bubble bath for scent and last added the shaped sponges.
Bath time is a great sensory play activity. Exploring the water alone is so much fun. the added color and scent just add to the experience for the kids.
Bath time is also a fun time to add a little extra learning fun in for t he older kids. Going over the colors and shapes of the sponges, you could even add a little counting. It was also a fun science experiment to see if the sponges would sink or float.
A sponge bath: easy, cheap, fun, and even educational. This is a keeper at my house. All 3 of my kids approve too. Hope you and your kids can enjoy this too.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
