Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tail (FSPDT): Homemade Scented Colored Glitter Glue

Homemade Scented Colored Glitter Glue

As I stated in my last DIY Glitter Glue post, the colored glitter glue at Walmart kept taunting me every time I walked by it.  I really wanted to buy it but could not bring myself to do it.  Not sure why because I do buy craft materials.  I really love craft materials when they are cheap, this glitter glue was not.  Since my boys love to pour out a ton of glue one bottle would have been gone in a day or two.  Now that I can make my own, read here how, I wanted to make it just a little more fun.  Why not add scents like those awesome scented markers I had growing up.  So scented, colored, glitter glue is what I have to share with you today. I just love this glue.  Maybe even more than the kids do.  So many wonderful art projects await.

What I used:

Clear glue, glitter, food coloring, containers from IKEA, and scents.

What to do:

Pour the glitter and food coloring and scent in the bottom of container.  Then add the glue.  Shake well.  Yep, that's it.  Now you have fun and colorful glitter glue.  It also smells amazing, just like those markers I was talking about.  We did glitter glue pumpkins with our last recipe.  With this recipe, we used it as paint to decorate a paper feather my son had brought home as homework for his class.  The colors came out nice.  Do beware that the coloring could stain.  We hadn't had any problems yet but do be mindful when using it.

We had Sugar cookie, Lemon, and Cranberry Mandarin scented glitter glue to create a fun art project with.

While my 5 yr old decorated his feather for school my 2 yr old decorated white paper.  We made thankful glitter glue paintings and added cut up paper with what we are thankful for.   Can you tell that ketchup is a big deal to my toddler.  He could not live without it, lol.  Above photo is from my cell phone. It's not great but just wanted you to see what he created.

Hope you can enjoy scented colored glitter glue for many arts and craft projects too.
