Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tail (FSPDT): Valentine's Day Cookies for the Busy Mom

Valentine's Day Cookies for the Busy Mom

I had been wanting to make a special Valentine treat with my kids this year.  Last year we made Cake Batter Rice Krispy.  I felt like I needed to come up with another fun and new treat to make.  These boys keep me busy and I thought I would not have time to find a recipe and get the ingredients....  I almost gave up on us making a special treat this year.  Then, as luck would have it, the idea for the Cookies for Busy Moms came to mind.

Valentine's Day Cookies for the Busy Mom

My oldest son requested a pack of cookie dough that was pre-sectioned into cookies at the store.  We came home with it and I was feeling a little blue that all we would have were these store bought cookie dough cookies.  Then I thought why not take these easy cookies and just jazz them up a bit. And that is what we did.

"Simple is not boring" is one of my favorite quotes. These simple store bought sugar cookies would be delicious and fun and not boring.

what we used:

store bought cookie dough

almond bark

sprinkles

wax paper

What we did:

Cook the cookies as directed on package.  Then let cool.  Heat the almond bark in microwave about 1-2 minutes until melted. Dip the cookies in the melted vanilla and lay flat on wax paper. Then add sprinkles.  Let almond bark harden.  Then EAT!

Valentine's Day Cookies for the Busy Mom!  Who says we can't make easy fun.  Not always do we have to make something from scratch or spend a lot of time creating to have a fun and yummy treat for you and the kids.  Maybe you and your kids can enjoy these too.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
