Did you know that craftprojectideas has a a material of the month they highlight? This month is all about buttons. I recently cleaned and organized one of my craft closets and I was thrilled to be able to see all my craft supplies laid out in front of me. All the ideas and not enough time. Putting those buttons to use was high on my list and when I saw the MOM I knew I needed to get them out and put them to use now. We set out to make Marbled Coffee Filter Button Flowers. This was the perfect evening project for my oldest son and I.
What we used:
sharpies
glue stick
white cardstock
large buttons
electrical tape
marbled coffee filters-
we recently made marbled eggs with little brother. Before trashing the remaining mixture we dipped coffee filters in it. I love to get the most out of every activity we do. I left them to dry and a few days later they came in handy for an evening craft with my oldest.
What to do:
Glue the coffee filter to the white cardstock.
Add the large button to the center of the coffee filter.
Add the electrical tape to the flower.
Now, if you want, give the kids markers and let them add their own touch the to coffee filter flowers. Big brother got lucky and got to use my sharpies.
I just loved how he described to me what he was adding and why. He added a bee. He said the bee needed to get some pollen. Then he added a lot of pollen for the bee.
Finished flowers we made that day:
