Simple Invitation to Thread for Toddlers

My toddler is a busy boy all day long.  He does not stop.  As I am sure many of you can relate, sometimes I need to keep him busy on his own so I can wash dishes or make lunch.  This day he had cereal on a tray and brought out the pipe cleaners from our Fine Motor Activity Can.  He now had the perfect set up for a simple invitation to thread.  Now to wash the dishes while he played.

pipe cleaners

What we did:

I gave him the supplies and let him take over.  He would put one piece of cereal at a time on the pipe cleaner.  He wore it as a bracelet.  He would put the cereal on and then take them off.

This turned out to be the perfect busy activity for him this day.  He was having fun while I was right there cleaning up the house.  It was a win win for both of us.  He even got to enjoy a snack in the process.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
