What we used:
playdough
thin pasta noodles
cheerios
What to do:
I rolled balls of playdough and set them on a tray. I then poked noodles down in the playdough. Last, I sat a cupcake liner filled with dry cereal on the tray.
My toddler played with this in the morning and later in the afternoon with big brother. He could not wait to get started.
We went over the color of the playdough and the shape of the cereal.
He threaded the cereal over the noodles. He then started sticking more noodles into the playdough.
I gave him the directions on how to thread the cereal but then after doing that I left it up to him on how to play. Giving kids a chance to have free play is important to me.
One simple activity brought lots of fun and entertainment. Also, it helped them work on their tiny hand muscles and hand eye coordination.
We love playdough so much I have a pin board just for Ways To Play With Playdough.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
