Volcanoes, or fizzing baking soda, has been a go to activity for us at my house. All 3 kids have been having fun with this simple science experiment. I have been inventing new ways for us to play with volcanoes. Today we set out to enjoy Ghost Volcanoes.
What we used:
baking soda
white plastic cups
vinegar
food coloring
black sharpie
What I did:
I drew simple eyes and mouth on the white cups. Then placed them in a tray and filled them with baking soda. I put drops of food coloring in the cups. I filled a measuring cup with vinegar.
Now for the fizzing fun to start. Each cup had a different color of food coloring it it.
He started pouring the vinegar in each cup.
He loved seeing all the different colors foam up from the ghost.
Once he had used all the vinegar he started playing in the tray.
He poured all the cups into one cup to see what color he would get. He said it was a yucky color, lol.
We got to test this out while the little ones were asleep. It was nice to spend some one on one time with my big boy. We saved the cups so we can do it with little brothers again. I love that you can do this more than once if you save the cups.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
