Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tail (FSPDT): Dream Snow Suncatcher or Ornament

Dream Snow Suncatcher or Ornament

We love the book Dream Snow by Eric Carle!  It is one of our favorite Christmas books.  We used it in our own Book Advent Countdown last year and the kids loved it. This year I set out to create a fun craft with the kids to go with this book we love.  I could not wait to get started with the kids.

What we used:

white paint

glitter

laminated laminate- just laminated the clear sheet by itself.

cotton swap (q-tip)

string

hole punch

scissor

First we made Dream Snow Paint = white paint and blue glitter.

What to do:

I cut out clear circles from the laminated laminate. The kids then painted snow on to them.  We added extra glitter and left to dry.

I came back and punched a hole in the suncatcher or ornament the kids made.  I then added string through the hole so we could hang it up.

Love his face as he creates his snow painting.

Now we have fun Dream Snow Suncatchers to decorate the windows with.  I have a feeling they will make it onto our Christmas tree as ornaments once we get it out.
