My son's teacher called me one afternoon and wanted to know if I could dye pasta for the class. She had planned for them to make necklaces but was running out of time and needed some help. She had no clue I was a blogger and things like this were so much fun for me to do and share about. I accepted the job of dying pasta and looked forward to trying it out. I have dyed cooked noodles before, dry rice, dry beans, but never dry noodles. I could not wait to try it out.
What we used:
rigatoni noodles
food coloring
vinegar
bowls and spoon
What we did:
I poured vinegar and food coloring in bowls. We then added the noodles. My son mixed them up. I then sat them to the side for about 10 minutes.
I tried to make sure the noodles were covered well by the vinegar and food coloring. Once they were through sitting, I drained them in a strainer.
I had trays lined with paper towels. I poured the noodles over onto them. I left them there to dry for a day and a half.
