This is the calm down jar.
What you need: A jar, glitter glue, glitter, water, and glue.
What I did: Put about 1tsp of glitter in the jar and squeezed about half a glitter glue pen in the jar, then fill with warm water, shake it up, then add a few drops of food coloring. I then poured a few tsp of clear glue in the jar. Mix up.
I got it out to show to my oldest son the next day. He thought it was so cool to shake and look at. My youngest son 11months old saw us looking at the jar and wanted to look too. I was holding him and the jar for him to look at it. He loved it. He has his own sensory jar and I spy jar, he thought he could hold this one too. I felt bad for him. So, started thinking and looking around the house for something to make him one. I had a just washed out a peanut butter jar the day before and it was on the counter. I decided to use it. I did his the same way as the above jar. I did hot glue the lid on. I did not make his till he was napping. My oldest was interested in what I was making so I let him watch. He then wanted to look at our mason jar. He started making me nervous even while watching him, that he would break it. When I finished with my youngest jar, big brother said that's for me its not glass. I wouldn't break it mommy. So here mommy goes again looking through the house so they can both have their own plastic jar. I found one that hand scrub in it and just transferred it to another glass jar and washed it out.... Now we have 2 plastic jars and one glass. I was told by my oldest that it is mommy's jar. Oh, he knows mommy needs a jar to calm her at times, don't all us moms need one:-)
The new sensory/calm down jar.
The boys with the jar. Love when I find something they can both enjoy.
