St Patrick's Day: Grasshopper Pie

This is what I used all except the butter.  I didn't need it  because I bought the all ready made pie crust.  I also used green food coloring you don't see here.

St Patrick's Day: Grasshopper Pie

What you need:

  • oreo cookies
  • oreo pie crust
  • 3 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • less than 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
  • 4-5 drops green food coloring
  • 1 cup frozen whipped topping

Let's get started:

Place the marshmallows and milk in a saucepan  over low heat until the marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat, and stir in the peppermint extract and food coloring. Then add cool whip mix well. Take six oreos cookies and break into small pieces. Stir the cookie pieces into the marshmallow mint mixture. Pour the  pie filling into the pie crust. Break  two cookies in half, and garnish the pie with these pieces. Freeze for 20 minutes.
Serve the grasshopper pie cold, we left ours in the freezer and just sat out a few min before cutting and serving.
This is the recipe I used, of course I just modified it a bit.

Hope you enjoy as much as we did.  I know I will be making this again:-)
