Washi Tape Penguin Craft for Kids
What is not to love about Washi Tape, the bright colors and endless possibilities to use it in crafts and DIY decorations. I recently found some at the Dollar Tree and bought several rolls for us to craft with. We have already put it to use on our Snowman and Penguin Footprint Art. When my 2 year old sees the rolls of washi tape he gets excited and wants to just tape everything with it! With this in mind I wanted to set him up with a project just for that. Adding colorful washi tape to this fun foam sheet penguin seemed like a win win idea.
What I used:
penguin foam cutouts
washi tape
trays
What to do:
If you can trust the kids with the tape, let them tear pieces off to tape to the tray. I chose to tear the tape off and slightly taped to the tray. I then put one foam penguin on each of the 2 trays I sat out for my 2 older boys (2yr and 5yr).
I told them to have fun and put tape all over the penguin if they wanted. I had no idea how the craft would turn out but in the end it was quite cute.
I just loved their creations. We ended up gluing them down to a white piece of cardstock and hanging them on the walls. The kids love their craft and could not wait to tell daddy all about sticking tape to their penguins.
As always, I hope that maybe you and your kids can have fun with this too.
Please do come and visit us again. We would love to have you back.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!

I bought the same penguins...with no idea what to do with them. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI bought the same penguins on clearance at Target and I am going to use foam stickers and glitter glue for the kids to decorate at my son's birthday party. I don't have any of the neat tape but I would totally use it if I did :) Great idea!!!
