Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tail (FSPDT): Yogurt Bottle Snowman Craft

Yogurt Bottle Snowman Craft

So would you believe I made these snowmen in October, lol.  I was dreaming of them even then.  For those of you that do not know, I have a slight obsession with snowmen.  I also have an obsession with saving recyclables to use for later projects.  So it was inevitable that I would put the 2 together to come up with the Yogurt Bottle Snowman.

My son loves the yogurt smoothies with the monkey on the bottle.  He drinks them a lot.  So we have lots of bottles in a bin for possible projects.  I often have no clue why I am saving something and then suddenly out of the blue an idea hits.  That is how the yogurt bottle snowman was created.

What I used:

yogurt bottle

sharpies

yarn

pipe cleaners

baby socks

hot glue gun

What to do:

I drew the face on first.  Then I cut the baby sock in two.  I used the top half and bottom half to make each snowman a hat.  I glued them on with a hot glue gun. Then I added pipe cleaner arms by gluing them as well.  Last, I added the yarn to the snowmen.

Since I was not really sure what I was doing when I made these, it just came to me as I went along.  I did not have the kids help much.  They did help press the arms down and tried to tie the yarn.  I would love to sit down and let them create their own versions of this with supplies we used, as well as maybe elmers glue.  I always love seeing their interpretation of the craft in front of them.
I hope to add these little guys to some small world or sensory play soon for the boys.
Maybe you and the kids can have fun with these yogurt bottle snowmen too.

Please do come and visit us again. We would love to have you back.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. 1. Cute! I totally had an idea to do something with these little bottles (probably in October too!) and totally forgot until I just saw these! They are adorable!
