Slime is such a fun play material. There are many different ways to make it but for some reason we keep making it the same way over and over. Soon I need to venture out and try a new recipe. If you follow my blog you know my boys love Star Wars. We came up with a few activities for an unofficial Summer Bucket List this year and slime was one of them. Since they love Star Wars so much the 2 seemed to go hand and hand to me. I just had to make Space Slime and add their Star Wars characters to playtime. I could not wait to see if the kids loved the idea as much as I did.
Follow the How To Make Gak or Slime recipe and just add black gel food coloring and gold glitter to this batch.
After mixing it up I gave it a test stretch. I love the look of the gold glitter on the black slime.
Play set up:
We often use a plastic placemat when we play with slime. We have also taken it outside on the kids picnic table. Today I tried a plastic table cloth. Not a good idea. The slime stuck to it a bit. However, it did not keep my son from having a lot of fun during slime time.
I placed the slime on the table and put all the Star Wars characters out we have or, most of them. I left Darth Vader out because he has a cloth cape on. I was questioned about my choice to leave him out. It was noticed that he was missing.
Simple is best at my house. This simple setup was all my 5 yr needed to entertain himself during nap time for little brothers.
This slime is easy to store for reuse. Just put it in a plastic container and put in the fridge after playtime.
Once he was through playing we put up the slime in a container in the fridge, put characters in the sink to be washed, and rolled up table cloth and trashed. Easy clean up!
May the force be with you.
