Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tail (FSPDT): Transportation Sponge Painting

Transportation Sponge Painting

I found these fun transportation sponges at the dollar tree last year. I had a few ideas in mind for them when I bought them.  I was not sure which one I would end up trying.  The other day while needing to entertain my oldest tot, I decided to "sponge paint" with him. Transportation Sponge Painting proved to be a great way to spend some time with him and have fun.

What we used:

transportation shaped sponges

finger paint

tray

paper

What we did:

I added different colored paint to the separate sections of the tray and set it out with the paper and sponges.

Now little brother started dipping the sponges in the paint.  Then he pressed  the sponge down onto the paper.  Now he had a car print!

I believe this was the first time he used sponges for painting.  He just loved it. He did not want to stop even after we ran out of paint.

Simple yet oh so much fun to sponge paint with the kids.  This was a great way for us to spend some quiet time together while baby brother napped.  This would also make a good busy activity for him and his older brother in the future.

Planes, trains, cars... Sponge painting gets 2 thumbs up at my house.  I hope you and your kids can enjoy this too.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
