My oldest loves cloud dough. A fun, fluffy, and yet moldable play material you can make at home. We have been playing in it for years. He never gets tired of it. I recently asked him if he could have anything he wanted with an apple scent for playtime what would it be. His answer CLOUD DOUGH. So I set out to make Apple Scented and Colored Cloud Dough for playtime.

Glitter Cloud Dough Recipe
I am so excited to share this post with you. I have been trying new things with glitter thanks to the Glittering Muffins pinterest board I am on called Glitter! And I find myself getting a little into the idea of adding glitter to already fun things. I hope you and your kids can have as much fun as we did with our Glitter Cloud Dough.
Cloud Dough Transportation Sensory Bin
We first made cloud dough fall 2011. And my son LOVED it!! We have sense played it in many times. It keeps well in a rubbermaid box. We store it and get it out for hours son end fun over and over. In time he has spilled it here and there so it was time to make a new batch. Here is what we did to make our Cloud Dough.
Cloud Dough Sand Castles
We love finding new things to try and explore at my house. When I came across Cloud Dough on Juggling With Kids Blog I knew we had to try it! My son loves sand... and this looked like fun. We set out to make a batch and get to playing.
Strawberry Ice Cream Dough Sensory Bin
My oldest wanted to try some Strawberry scented sensory play with summer and I told him we could. We love fresh strawberries at my house. Playing with strawberry scented Ice Cream Dough seemed like a must! We set out to make a list of a few more strawberry inspired play ideas. Then we whipped up a batch of Strawberry ice cream dough for afternoon play.
How To Make Apple Scented Soda Dough
We love making and playing with different play recipes. Today we used a fun recipe to make Apple Scented Soda Dough. This one is a green apple scent so, a little different from our other scented play over the last few weeks. I love it just as much as the kids do. We had fun exploring and playing with the apple soda dough.
10+ Sensory Play Activities Kids Love
We love sensory play at our house. It can be so much fun to learn through our senses. The children learn about sight, taste(possible), touch, smell, and so much more through these play activities. I am sharing with you today 10 sensory activities my kids love. I hope you find one or two for your kids to enjoy too.
Apple Scented Frozen Baking Soda and Vinegar Science
My kids love to play with baking soda and vinegar. Simple science at its best. I have been telling the kids for some time we would try freezing it for playtime. Well, we can finally mark it off our to try list. Apple Scented Frozen Baking Soda and Vinegar Science is perfect for fall. Fall is right around the corner and thoughts and scents of apples are on my mind. Fall in the south is one of my favorite seasons. Perfect weather for lots of outside playtime.
DIY Apple Scented Frozen Glitter Paints
We recently made Apple Scented Soda Dough and had left over ingredients. My gears were turning to think of what else we could do that was apple scented and fun! The idea for DIY Apple Scented Frozen Paints came to mind. I could not wait to see how, and if, this experiment would turn out.

Apple Scented Glitter Glue and Apple Craft
I bought apple scent one year when we made apple scented soaps. Every fall now I get excited to get the apple scent out and see what playtime fun we can have with it. My son was looking for something to do and I started brainstorming apple, fall, sensory, crafts, hummm what to do. Then Apple Scented Glitter Glue came to mind. We whipped up a batch of scented glitter glue and starting painting!

Sensory Bins for Exploring Texture
I just love taking part in the projects Sarah comes up with from Little Bins for Little Hands. Today I am sharing as part of the 6 Days Of Sensory Play For Kids {Blog Hop}. I am only able to make one day of this fun 6 day blog hop. But be sure to click on the link above. It will take you to a homepage that will keep you in the loop.
Sensory Play has just become part of our everyday play over here at my house. My kids love it. From simple playdough play to full on themed sensory bins! There are so many ways to explore with our senses during playtime. I have been wanting to put a collection together of some of our favorite sensory bins. Sharing today on the sense of touch, sensory bins were perfect. These bins will give you fun ideas to explore different textures with the kids. All giving children a chance to touch and feel different sensory bin fillers. Sensory bins offer a wide variety of exploring. Touch is a main one but the children often get to explore sounds, smells, and sometimes taste (if edible). Of course, all sensory bins offer a great exploration of sight. While playing in sensory bins, children also can be working on fine and/or gross motor skills, critical thinking, problem solving, sharing, learning colors, and so much more. Depending on how you set up your sensory bin determines the extra learning that will be taking place. Sensory play is a wonderful way to explore and learn!
Hope you can be inspired by these bins below.

DIY Sensory pond

This was so much fun putting together and my son had just as much fun playing with it. I love activities that are not a headache for me and my kids love. This did take me preparing the frozen ice with the frogs in them ahead of time but everything else I just got out that day as we headed outside. Daddy was home this day too and it is always easier to set up activities when he can help keep an eye on the boys. For the large frozen ice cubes I used small to med sized plastic bowls. I added water, food coloring, and the plastic frogs. I put them in the freezer a few days before we set this up.
What we used: A bottle of colored water, a bowl of glitter water, a cup with pine scent essential oils, little rocks we had, sticks we gathered, toy boats( my sons choice to add), and I took some foam sheets and cut out lily pads. Oh I see he had a net too.
What I did: I filled up the box with plain water. Next I let him start adding all the fun sensory items in the box to the water. Then let him play!

I thought the pine scent would work to add an outside nature scent to the pond. I don't think even if I had "pond scent" I would have added that, lol.

He loved the glitter.

Colored water seems to make most things even better.

He loved the lily pads! I had to make him a few more while playing. I was glad he liked them because I am no artist.

We had never made a sensory pond before and I had a lot of fun setting it up and watching him as he played. I hope you and your family can enjoy one too.
All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!

12 of Our Most Loved Activities/Crafts of 2012
2012 was the beggining of my blogging days. It has been a fun way for me to share our fun with others in hopes they may find something fun too. I wanted to put together 12 of our most loved posts from last year. This is not all of our loved post. I didn't include our most viewed single activity post which is Apple Playdough. You can see that in my best of the best post I did as part of a blog hop. Also I didn't include my 10 Things Kids Love series that has been enjoyed by others. I must say it was hard to pick 12 post but I tried to pick ones we loved and others did too. So here is what I came up with. Thanks for following along and letting me share my ideas with you. I hope to continue to share fun ideas with you in 2013.
