Little brother LOVES playdough. So, for his birthday this year, big brother wanted to make him a playdough cake. He said this as in meaning his actual birthday cake. At first I said your so silly, he can not eat a playdough cake for his birthday. And, so I thought to myself, that might be but we could set up a pretend play activity and make our own playdough cakes. This is also a great fine motor skills activity in of itself. That is just what we did and big brother says we must do this each year for him.
Playdough birthday cakes are a wonderful fine motor skills activity for toddlers, preschoolers, and more.
What we used:
Banana Playdoguh
cake pans
star sequins
candles
lavender rice
cupcake papers
lolly pop sticks
What we did:
We pressed playdough down in a cake pan. Big brother then decorated the cake for little brother. We left it covered with press n seal for him to find when he woke up from nap. We also left the table set up with our other supplies for more playtime fun.
I love that this activity was inspired by a brother's love. Little brother was thrilled to see this set up when he woke up. Both boys had a lot of fun playing with the playdough birthday cakes.
