My oldest loves cloud dough. A fun, fluffy, and yet moldable play material you can make at home. We have been playing in it for years. He never gets tired of it. I recently asked him if he could have anything he wanted with an apple scent for playtime what would it be. His answer CLOUD DOUGH. So I set out to make Apple Scented and Colored Cloud Dough for playtime.
I started out with a little crushed chalk because I did not have any powdered paint. This gave the cloud dough its color.
I wish you could smell this Apple Cloud Dough Sensory Bin through the computer. It is amazing! I could have sat beside them playing all day long.
This Sensory Bin was set up for exploring scent, touch, and sight. Also, fine motor skills practice picking up the apples with the tongs by hiding and seeking the apples after burying them under the cloud dough. It also helped the kids to put their imaginations to work.
The apple erasers came from Target.
The wooden bowls were a fun find while out shopping with my hubby one day.
red crushed or powdered chalk(powder paint can be used too)
8 cups flour
1 cup cooking oil
and apple scent (from apple soaps)
What I did:
I got the plastic bin out the kids would play in and added the chalk, the flour, the oil, and then the scent. I mixed with a spoon and then my hands until it was moldable but still crumbled.
This is my all time favorite, as of now, Cloud Dough recipe we have made! Perfect for Fall but great any time of the year.
