For the love of Apples! I can not stop thinking up apple play ideas, lol. Now that it is finally September, maybe I will get hit with another theme for inspiration.
Apple slime is quick, easy, and low cost to make and play with. It can get messy so play if you dare.
elmers gliter glue
sequins
liquid starch
I emptied the bottle of glue into the bowl. Then I added a little starch to the glue and mix. I repeated this until it was thick and then mixed with my hands.
Get a few trays out, cinnamon sticks and apple scented soap.
After playing with our Apple Volcanoes I was not ready to toss the apples out yet. I mixed up a quick batch of red sparkle slime for the kids to play with.
This slime has the potential to be apple scented. That is where the apple soap comes in. I added a little apple scented soap to the inside of the apples before placing them on the trays. By adding the slime to the apple it mixed with the soap. Then making the slime smell like apples.
This is a great open ended, hands on play activity. Also great way to explore many senses (sensory play).
Little brother was in love with the sequins. He added it to the slime and the apples. Later adding the slime to the apple. He had the apple scented slime.
Big brother was not worried about the added items on the tray he just wanted to play with the slime. He did add a little sequins to the slime.
Baby brother seemed happy to hold that cinnamon stick and poke the slime.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
