I don't have to be afraid spray~ for kids

My oldest was only able to fall asleep if someone sat with him.  This was not a big problem when it was just him or even him and his little brother.  When baby brother came it was impossible for me to be with my oldest and care for the baby at bedtime. The baby never seemed to be asleep when my oldest was ready for bed.  Fortunately little brother went to bed earlier and baby brother was usually asleep for me to get him to bed. My husband does not have bankers hours so most nights bedtimes are all on me.  I had to come up with a plan to help him fall asleep on his own. The I Don't Have To Be Afraid Spray was invented.

3 PINK Activities For Kids {to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month}

This month is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Going PINK is pretty well known these days.  I always believe that there is one more person who can always be informed on the topic and the importance of early detection.  By having yearly breast exams and starting yearly mammograms at age 40 you are increasing the chances for early detection should there be a problem to find.

I do not plan to make this post long and drawn out.  I do want to take a moment not just to bring awareness to the disease, but to those that have been affected by this, and for those that are no longer here.  For every word you read in this post, there is a family out there with one less loved one due to a battle with cancer that was not won.  Today I dedicate this post to them.  May your loved ones never be forgotten.

Mini Can Food Drive - To Help Teach Children To Give

Last year Jennifer from The Good Long Road and Stacy from Kids Stuff World introduced me to No Kid Hungry.  Once hearing what the girls had to say about them and the cause they support, I was happy to join forces with them to help bring awareness to hunger. This month (September) is hunger awareness month and Moms Fighting Hunger is going orange for the month to help support this cause.  In addition, us moms are trying to find ways to help out by donations to our local food pantry and various other organizations to help fight hunger.

Brunch- simple is not boring

I was happy to come across the chance to take part in the 14 Days of Busy Mama's Dating Their Husbands with my fellow bloggers. Each blogger is writing a different post in the series. Follow the link to see them all! 

Since this was something on the top of my to improve list for the new year, it was a good reason to get me motivated to make a date happen.  Having 3 children 4yr, 1.5yr, and newborn it doesn't leave much free time for me and my husband to "date".   We both stay busy with me taking care of the kids and him working.  However we do think it is important to make time for each other. We do have a lot of in-home dates( eating take out after the kids have gone to bed and watching a movie together is our go to in-home date) but sometimes it is nice to change things up. 

I had  worked out a day to have someone keep the kids and now had to decide what to do.  When I think date I often get a lot of grand ideas for us but I have to remind myself that it is ok to keep it simple.  Simple does not mean boring.  Sometimes simple is just what we need.  And of course being together no matter what we do is the most important part.  After talking it over with my husband we decided on going to brunch at one of our favorite local restaurants (that the kids do not like).  Since we never get to go it was a big deal to us to go enjoy a meal other than pizza and nachos,lol.  We also got to talk and enjoy one another while at brunch with no interruptions.  It was just what we needed. Taking time out of our busy life as parents to reconnect as spouses is something I hope to do more often this year with my husband. I look forward to more dates and hope to have at least one a month over this year.  Now to come up with our next date idea even if it is simple.  What are your go to dates?

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 

 Having been in the medical field and watching close friends and co-workers deal with this in their families it hits home with me.  My close family has been affected by many types of other cancers(CA) but not breast.  I support the awareness of all cancers but for this month I wanted to share on breast cancer.

 When I was looking through quotes I came across this one and thought it was perfect. I hope my boys will remember these special moments we have together as they grow. We may not remember everyday but I hope our family adventures can be those moments they recall.
