I have seen a few pictures on pinterest of ice blocks with treasure in them and the kids get them out. I have stated in past post I am bad about seeing a picture and then doing it how I want with out reading the post. I do however go back to my pin board and pull up the pic's and link credit back to the site I got the idea from. This post is one of those activities:-) The great site that inspired our ice block fun was http://countingcoconuts.blogspot.com. I did just read the post and they seemed to have had a lot of fun also and did some things we did not and vise versa. This is how our ice block activity went.
What you need:
bowl
toys(I just grabbed odds and ends out of drawers in our kitchen)
and put those in the water.
We could fill a box with the little things I have put in the "junk" drawers since my youngest son started crawling.
What to do:
put toys or whatever you want them to find in a bowl and then add water. Freeze until solid. I left mine in the freezer a few days until we had time to do it. When we got it out to do this activity, I then got out a spray bottle, and dish soap bottles I had saved and water guns. I filled them with hot water and a few I added food coloring. My son wanted a tray to put the bowl on so he would not loose his little man. ( He was a little upset with me for putting his stuff in the ice, but I explained it would come out) So glad I didn't put his beloved hot wheels in, that was my first thought!
Using the spray bottle!
Using the dish soap bottle, this one worked the best for us.
He thought this was a lot of fun! And I think daddy had fun playing too.
Hope you can have a fun day with your family and play with ice and water.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
