So excited to be taking part in Celebrate the 100th Day Blog Hop hosted by the Reading Mama.  Be sure to head over to the landing page (highlighted above) to keep up with all the amazing posts that will be shared.  For this series it is all about 100!  Many are doing round ups on a "100 of one" theme or idea and others like us are doing a post dedicated to the  number 100.  Having small children still, we usually focus more on counting to 10 or 20.  However, there is no reason why I should not introduce the number 100 to them. Today I will share how we learned of the #100 by crafting, dressing up, and counting to 100.  Anytime we can have some fun and learn something new it is a good day at my house.

All of my printables are intended for personal use (you print for the kids to color, craft, and use as props).  Do not download my images to sell or reuse in an images of your own. See my Copy Right here.

This craft is the perfect way to introduce the number 100 to young kids.  They will get to see the number while decorating and creating their wand.  After the wand is complete they have a fun prop to use to celebrate the number.  These wands would be perfect for the 100 days of school celebration too, or in addition.

What we used:

Markers

Sequins and red glitter glue (that the lovely craftprojectideas sent us in a goodie bag- ty)

Craft sticks

Plain glue

Scissors

Printable wand cutout

How to make a # 100 wand:

I printed the print outs of the # 100 wand.  Then I cut them out.  Older kids would probably do great with cutting them out themselves.  I could have let my preschooler try but for times sake and only having 2 printed out I just did this step myself.

Now that we had the wand cutouts ready I gave them to the kids.  We had markers, sequins, and glue on the table ready to decorate our wand.

My oldest traced his 100 fist.  My tot just went to coloring.  Next came the glitter glue!!

We traced the 100 again with the glue.  The kids then went wild with the sequins.

Now we left them to dry before we added them to the craft sticks.  Later that day I came back and glued the wand cutouts to the sticks.  Yay, we now have the completed #100 wands.

After having fun making our #100 Wands we sat down to go over the number 100.  We had a simple counting activity and the 2 worksheets from above.

What we did:

I took 10 bags and filled each with 10 items.  I used craft supplies, snacks, and toys.  I put the bags out on the table.  I had the kids sit down so we could go over the number 100.

I counted the bags with the kids.  Then I told them that each bag had 10 items inside. I then told them if we laid out all the items on the table we would have 100.
